Scott E. Edgett
Owner & Senior Trial Attorney
Founding Attorney Backed By Ample Experience
Attorney Scott E. Edgett dedicated his life to becoming a lawyer with the goal of assisting those who need it most. Living by the motto “bad things happen to good people,” Attorney Edgett prides himself on his work as a trial attorney.
He believes that a trial attorney is an individual with enough confidence and experience to stand before a jury and relentlessly seek justice.
More About Scott
When a case needs to be taken seriously, Scott is the one leading it.
With 24 years of courtroom experience, he has built his career on one belief, when bad things happen to good people, they deserve someone who will actually fight for them.
At Edgett Hawk, Scott brings a trial-first mindset to every case. He prepares every file as if it’s going in front of a jury, not as a quick settlement. That approach changes how cases are handled and how seriously they are taken.
He is not just the co-owner of the firm. He sets the standard for how cases are fought and how clients are represented. Insurance companies would rather settle than see him in a courtroom.

Prior To The Founding Of His Firm
Attorney Edgett comes from the town of Erie, Pennsylvania. While attending college, he aspired to become a police officer with the intent of helping others. He soon graduated from the police academy, but soon realized that a career in law would allow him to reach even more people, so he set out to get his law degree.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, he moved to Florida to attend NSU Shepard Broad College of Law.
There, he served as a clerk for the Honorable Patti Englander-Henning of the 17th judicial circuit while also working full-time for an accomplished law firm in Fort Lauderdale. In only two and a half short years, Attorney Edgett graduated law school.
Career Path & Work Ethic
Scott’s path into law started with service. He attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, earning his degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice while also graduating from the police academy.
He initially set out for law enforcement, but realized the law would allow him to protect more people on a larger scale.
He went on to attend NSU Shepard Broad College of Law in Florida, where he clerked for Judge Patti Englander-Henning while working full-time at a Fort Lauderdale law firm.
He completed law school in just two and a half years, setting the tone for the work ethic that defines his career.
Following law school, he spent time working on civil litigation cases, including:
After building his trial foundation in civil litigation, Scott focused exclusively on personal injury — representing Texans against insurance companies and at-fault parties who would rather minimize a claim than do the right thing. He co-founded Edgett Hawk Accident and Injury Law to bring that trial-first mindset to every case the firm handles.
